With a an undergraduate
degree in English and a master's
degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Melanie Welsch Pritchard
taught at both the high school and college levels. She is
currently the Education Director for the Life Educational
Corporation. In addition to this, Melanie started “The
Underground Project” (www.theundergroundproject.com), a pro-life
organization that plans events to help the youth and young
adults become actively involved in the Pro-life Movement. She
has spoken to thousands of youth and young adults at many
churches, schools and organizations. Most recently, Melanie
spoke at the 2007 Arizona Rally for Life, The 2007 National
Family Conference, at University of Missouri , Ave Maria
University and at The 2007 Diocese of Phoenix Pro-Life Youth
Rally. During the summers she travels the country speaking at
Steubenville University youth conferences. Melanie also created
a clothing line called "Refuge Clothing Co." (www.refugeclothing.com)
to give young people an opportunity to still look attractive
while sending positive messages with their clothing. In March
2007, the Phoenix Business Journal honored her with
“The 40 Most Successful People
Under 40 Award”. Topics Melanie frequently speaks on are
abortion, chastity, modesty and the value and dignity of life.
